Tucked away in the beautiful Piket-Bo-Berg mountains above Piketberg, Retreat Guest Farm is a place to slow down, breathe deeply and enjoy the simple pleasures of country life.
Surrounded by rugged mountain landscapes, fynbos, orchards and wide-open skies, our farm offers three unique self-catering homes: Retreat Main House, Somerlus Cottage and Langberg Cottage. Each has its own character and space to unwind, making it an ideal escape for couples, families and friends.
Spend your days exploring more than 30km of walking and mountain-biking trails, swimming in the dam, kayaking, fishing or simply enjoying a long lunch and a glass of wine. There’s plenty of space to explore, but just as much reason to do absolutely nothing.
We’re also lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful community of small wine producers, local farms and independent food makers. From discovering the wines of the Piket-Bo-Berg to visiting the monthly Farmers’ Market, there’s plenty to experience beyond the farm.
Whether you’re looking for an adventurous weekend in the mountains, a family holiday or a few days away from the everyday, Retreat Guest Farm is a place to settle in, reconnect and make yourself at home.

Our Accommodation
Quiet and secluded
We have three private self-catering cottages on the farm, all fully equipped with everything you’ll need for the perfect weekend away. Our cottages are made for families or groups of friends and are also pet-friendly.
Farmers' Market
The Piket-Bo-Berg Farmers' Market
The Piket-Bo-Berg Farmers’ Market has been running for over 18 years on our neighbour’s farm, Kruistementvlei Guest Farm. The market is on the last Saturday of every month from 9 am – 12 pm.
You can expect a variety of delicious food, drinks and fresh produce available throughout the morning for brekkie, snacks & lunch! Please remember to bring cash. There are also card facilities available.
We highly recommend booking a stay during one of the market weekends. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the Piket-Bo-Berg community & amazing fresh produce and talent (we have a local band!) our mountain has to offer. The market is a short walk from the Main House or a quick cycle/drive from Somerlus or Langberg Cottage.
Our MTB and trail running trails are open to all market visitors on market days. The trails start on Langberg Farm about 1km from Kruistementvlei, where the market is held.
